1. Disconnect through Datagene
Where connection controls are available in the Datagene portal, use the following process:
- sign in to your Datagene account;
- open Settings or Connections;
- select the connected platform or account;
- choose Disconnect;
- review the warning and confirm disconnection.
2. Request manual disconnection
Where self-service controls are not yet available, send a request to contact@datagene.expert.
Include your organisation, account email, connected platform and the account or page you want disconnected.
3. What disconnection does
After a successful disconnection, Datagene will:
- stop requesting new data from the disconnected account;
- stop scheduled publishing or synchronisation for that connection;
- revoke or remove stored access credentials where technically supported;
- mark the connection as inactive in Datagene.
4. Previously imported information
Disconnection does not necessarily delete information already imported or generated before the connection was removed.
To remove previously imported information, submit a separate request through our Data Deletion page.
5. Revoke access through the provider
You may also revoke access directly through the security, permissions, business integrations or connected-app settings provided by Google, Meta, Facebook, Instagram or the applicable third-party service.
Revoking access at the provider may cause the Datagene connection to stop immediately or fail during its next synchronisation.
6. Reconnecting later
A disconnected account can normally be connected again by completing a new authorisation process and approving the requested permissions.
